In a deserted retirement village in space, a disgraced cop-turned-janitor must outsmart the maintenance system that’s programmed to eliminate its residents for corporate profit …while finishing cleaning the toilets.
Murder isn’t personal for this machine – it’s just house cleaning…
In her old life, former cop ROSE disobeyed a machine’s advice at a crime scene – and people got killed. Now she’s a grumpy janitor at a Florida-style retirement village in space, determined never to make a decision in her life again.
Then the colony is mysteriously evacuated. Rose is left behind alone, but the system still controls her life and work schedule.
As she battles the obstinate automated machines, Rose discovers the evacuated residents are due to die in orbit. The whole thing is a scam by the company CHIEF. He wants to get rid of those unprofitable retirees – they just live too damn long! – and double-sell the space condos.
Now Rose has to dust off her rusty police skills, take down the villainous Chief, save the colonists…
…while fighting a system that insists she finish cleaning the toilets.
